Have you ever heard of the app, INaturalist? With INaturalist, you can post any pictures of flora or fauna, and scientists will identify it for you. My Environmental Studies teacher assigned my class to walk around school and take pictures of any wildlife we could find. I searched all around my school, and on a small silver oak tree behind the baseball field, I found a bright red dragonfly. After finding this dragonfly, I posted it to the INaturalist app, and the scientists identified it as a Flame Skimmer. Now my photo is a research-grade picture that scientists can use in their studies of insects! So take a walk around your neighborhood and see what cool things you can discover with INaturalist!
